PARENT VISAS

The Australian Visa System has multiple classes of Parent visas and categorized based on an applicant’s age, Dependency, temporary or permanent residence allowing parents to reunite with their children who are Australian citizens or Permanent Residents.

There are currently six classes of Parent visas which fall into two major categories: non-contributory and contributory.

SUBCLASS 103

This is a permanent visa, let's a parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to move to Australia, subject to satisfying visa requirements. New Parent and Aged parent visa application lodged and queued are likely to take between 30 - 50 years for final processing.

ELIGIBILITY:

Parent of an eligible child, who is either an Australian citizen, Permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen
Must be sponsored by an eligible child, who is an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
Satisfy the Balance of Family test
Have not already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) subclass 870 visa
Meet Health and Character requirements

Contributory Parent
(Permanent)

SUBCLASS 143

The "Contributory" visa is a permanent residency visa. which allows the visa holder (parent/s) to stay indefinitely in Australia with their children. You may be eligible for this visa if you have children residing and settled in Australia and they are Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

The visa application cost is $47,825, this significant contribution to the visa application fee is to offset the rights granted to visa holder through permanent residency, such as health care, towards which they have not contributed in the same way as an ordinary Australians have by paying taxes.

Contributory Parent (tEMPORARY)

SUBCLASS 173

The "Contributory" visa is a temporary visa. this visa provides an option to spread the cost of a contributory payment instead of a lumpsum payment as in subclass 173 permanent visa.

The applicants are granted a 2 year temporary visa and within the 2 year period they have an option to apply for a permanent visa subclass 143 and pay an additional $19,420.

The significant contribution to the visa application fee is to offset the rights granted to visa holder through permanent residency, such as health care, towards which they have not contributed in the same way as an ordinary Australians have by paying taxes.

SUBCLASS 804

The Aged parent visa is a replica of the Parent subclass 103 visa, however, it is suitable for applicants who are old enough to be eligible for the Australian age pension.

This visa allow you to live in Australia with your child permanently, provide they are an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen who is settled in Australia.

Eligibility:

Parent of an eligible child, who is either an Australian citizen, Permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen
Must be sponsored by an eligible child, who is an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
Satisfy the Balance of Family test

SUBCLASS 884

The "Contributory" visa is a temporary visa. this visa provides an option to spread the cost of a contributory payment instead of a lumpsum payment as in subclass 864 permanent visa.

SUBCLASS 870

The subclass 870 visa allow parents to stay temporarily in Australia for 3 or 5 years, but not more than 10 years. This will facilitate parents of permanently migration children the opportunity to spend more time with them in Australia without the hassles and expenses of having to leave and re-enter on a regular basis.

Eligibility:

Biological parent, step-parent, or parent-in-law of the sponsor
Must have an approved parent sponsor to apply for this visa
Meet health and character requirements

When you have this Visa, you'll be able to:

VISIT AUSTRALIA UPTO 3 or 5 YEARS (per visa)

TRAVEL IN/OUT OF AUSTRALIA (until visa is valid)
