To qualify for these visas, applicants must have a contract of employment and be sponsored by their prospective employer or current employer. The following visas are suitable for professionals and foreign workers looking to work in Australia on a temporary basis or settle down permanently.
SUBCLASS 482
The Temporary Skills Shortage (subclass 482) visa is purposed to enable employers to address labor shortages by bringing in genuinely skilled overseas workers, for skills that are not available in the local Australian market.
The subclass 482 visa very popular among the employers to sponsor overseas workers to work in Australia on a temporary basis and subject to satisfying the requirement the subclass 482 visa allows businesses to employ overseas workers for up to 4 years in nominated skilled occupations only.
The Temporary Skills Shortage (subclass 482) visa is available in Short-term and Medium-term streams and is processed in a three-stages involving a sponsorship, nomination, and visa application.
The visa is a temporary residency visa that can be granted for a period of between 3 months to 4 years depending on whether the nominated occupation is listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL), the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), or the Regional Occupation List (ROL).
SUBCLASS 186
The Employer Nomination Scheme (Permanent) Subclass 186 visa is part of the Permanent Employer Sponsored Entry (PESE) program that enables businesses (employers) to sponsor overseas skilled workers to fill genuine vacancies on full time/ permanent basis for the ongoing business.
ELIGIBILITY:
This visa has three streams and apart from the above basic requirements, applicants must meet the respective stream requirements for the visa to be granted:
SUBCLASS 494
The subclass 494 Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional visa is designed to facilitate Australian employers located in designated regional areas to recruit overseas employees, when businesses are unable to fulfil their employment needs from within the Australian market. Designated Areas for the purposes of this visa includes all of Australia except Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
The Subclass 494 visa is a provisional visa meaning it does not grant permanent residency immediately rather it provides a pathway to Permanent Residency visas to the eligible visa holder after 3 years.
This visa has two streams i.e., Employer-Sponsored Stream and Labour Agreement Stream, and is processed in 3-stages, which requires the employer to obtain Standard Business Sponsor approval prior to the Nomination and Visa Application stages.
SUBCLASS 191
Please note that this visa class will only commence on or after 16 November 2022.
This visa allows people who have lived and worked in designated regional areas of Australia on an eligible visa to live and work in Australia permanently.
