WORK AND HOLIDAY VISAS

The working holiday visas are part of the Australia’s Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program, designed for young people and provide the opportunity to travel and work while you are in Australia.

Working Holiday visas are temporary visas and divided into two subclasses, namely Work and Holiday Subclass 462 visa and Working Holiday Subclass 417 visa. They are primarily distinguished by the list of countries eligible for each visa.

Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program

SUBCLASS 462 & 417

They are usually issued for a period of 12 months, under a program of cultural exchange between Australia and certain nations. The purpose of these visas is to promote diversity and intercultural understanding. A working holiday visa is only available to those aged 18 to 30 (or 35 years old for some countries) who meet the following requirements:

Hold a valid passport from an eligible country
Have proof of English proficiency (unless you come from a native-speaking country)
Meet the education requirement (for subclass 462 visa)
Meet the health requirement
Must not be accompanied by dependent children
Have sufficient funds to support yourself (generally, around AUD $5,000)
Have a return ticket or proof of funds for a return ticket

When this visa is granted, it will allow you and your family members (included in the application) to:

Work & Study in Australia

STAY in Australia UPTO 12 MONTHS

STUDY UPTO 4 MONTHS

PAY TAXES, WHEN YOU WORK AND SUPERANNUATION(where applicable)
