Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa is for the people with business skills who want to establish, develop and manage a new or existing business in Australia. Applicant must be nominated by a state of territory government.

This is a provisional visa which eventually provided a pathway to permanent residency through subclass 888 visa.

This provisional visa is for the people with business skills and when granted allow them to operate new or existing business in Australia

ELIGIBILITY:

You should also be under 55 years of age and possess relevant business history or qualifications

You must score at least 65 point under point test

To apply for this type of visa, you should be taking over an existing business or starting over a new business enterprise in Australia

You should be nominated by the Australian government or any regional territory agency before you can apply for this visa

You must own personal and business assets of at least AUD 1,250,000

You must not have a history of involvement in unacceptable activities

This type of visa allows you to live and work in Australia for up to 5 years

You can apply for a permanent visa, 3 years after the grant of this visa

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be under 55 years of age, an exception is available, where you are of an exceptional economic benefit to the nominating state or territory

You must have held personal and business assets net worth AUD2.5 million in last two fiscal year

You should be able to invest AUD2.5 million in Australia to be eligible for this visa

You also require to meet some predefined conditions as regards business and investment

This visa is granted for five years

It would help if you also had the nomination of the Australian government or territorial government agency

Significant Investor Stream

This provisional visa is for the people who can invest at least AUD 5 million in Australian investment that meet certain requirements and maintain investment activity in Australia.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must have lawfully acquired assets worth AUD 5 million.

You are willing to invest AUD 5 million in a business in Australia

You genuinely intend and committed to live in the Nominating state or Territory after the visa is granted

You must be nominated by a state or territory

The length of this visa is granted for 5 years and needs you to be nominated by the Australian government or a territorial government agency

Business Innovation Extension stream

ELIGIBILITY:

Must hold the Business Innovation and Investment visa under Business Innovation stream.

Must demonstrate the need to reside in Australia to operate your business and manage its day to day affairs.

Must have current nomination from a State or Territory agency before being invited to apply for this visa. .

You must hold a business innovation stream visa for at least 3 years unless COVID-19 concessions apply.

Significant Investor Extension stream

ELIGIBILITY:

Must hold a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) subclass 188 in the Significant Investor stream for at least 3 years

Must have not held more than one Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) subclass 188 in the Significant Investor stream.

Must continue to comply with the significant investment.

Must be nominated by a State or Territory government agency or Austrade

Premium Investor stream

Entrepreneur

This provisional visa is for startup and early stage enterpreneurs who have been endorsed to develop their concepts and been nominated by a State or Territory government agency.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must have a funding agreement from an acceptable agency or organization for at least AUD 200,000

Must be under 55 years of age.

Must have competent English i.e. 6 in IELTS or 50 in PTE or Equivalent.

You must score at least 65 points in the point test.

You must be Nopmionated the Australian government or a territorial government agency

This visa is granted for 5 years

BUSINESS INNOVATION AND INVESTMENT

SUBCLASS 888

Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa is for the entrepreneurs, investors and business owners to continue their activities in Australia. The applicant must hold a relevant stream of the subclass 188 visa or subclass 444 (special category) visa or a subclass 457 (Business(Long Stay)) visa under certain circumstances.

Must hold the Business Innovation and Investment subclass 188 in the Business Innovation stream, Business Innovation extension stream, a Special Category (Subclass 444) visa or in some cases a Subclass 457 visa

To apply for this type of visa, you should be taking over an existing business or starting over a new business enterprise in Australia

Must have own and manage a business in Australia, with an annual turnover of AUD 300,000 in last 12 months before applying
